Amrita Bharati was founded in 1990 as a part of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, an institute of national and international standing, based in Mumbai.
Beginning with Funtrack, a page for the ‘Young World’ supplement published weekly by The Hindu of Chennai, Amrita Bharati and its reputation grew by leaps and bounds.
The demand for pages came from every corner of India! Soon, nationally reputed clients such as The Times of India, Hindustan Times, The Indian Express, The Hitavada and The Tribune were queuing up for Amrita Bharati content for their children’s pages and supplements.
Not to be left behind were newspapers in several regional languages — Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam — such as Navbharat Times, Loksatta, Jansatta, Eenadu, etc.
Renowned corporates such as HDFC, Novartis, LIC, IndianOil and HPCL also came forward seeking our valuable content for their house magazines.
Amrita Bharati has also produced several niche books for corporate clients including HDFC, Indal and Kingfisher Airlines.
Content creation for school textbooks according to the NCERT guidelines has been one of our lasting contributions to education. Macmillan Publishers and earlier, Prism Books, have been our loyal clients for many years.
Over the years, Amrita Bharati has built up a vast data bank of tailored features that cover a range of topics, ranging from wildlife, natural wonders, the sciences, books and famous people to technology, innovations, English language, health and travel. Every feature is written in easy to read and easy to understand language that appeals to all age groups, not just children.
Original stories, comics, quizzes, visual and math puzzles, crosswords and word games form a huge part of our treasure trove.
In 2004, Amrita Bharati launched Dimdima, a monthly magazine for children which now has a circulation of over 30,000.
